The Sports Museum takes care of the Slovenian sports heritage by collecting objects from Slovenian athletes, sports workers, and organisations. In accordance with its collecting policy, it covers all areas of sport while focusing on items that are important for understanding and presenting the history of Slovenian sport and sport in Slovenia. At present, the Museum keeps over 11,000 items that were donated by numerous Slovenian athletes, their relatives, collectors, sports workers, and other sports enthusiasts.
