Cultural holiday Prešeren’s Day

On Prešeren’s Day, 8 February 2024, Sports Museum opens its doors in the Slovenian School Museum. Visitors can visit the exhibition Collecting, researching, reviving. Sports heritage and the Sports Museum from 10 am to 6 pm, but if you are interested in the details of our sports activities, join a guided tour of the exhibition at 2 pm.At the exhibition, you will learn about the history of sports, from the first organized associations to important achievements of athletes in independent Slovenia. You will find out who is Sokol society  and  what this “heavy athletics”presents, and in what garment Rajmond Debevec won a gold medal at the Olympic Games.

For sports enthusiasts we organize workshops from 10 am until 5 pm. You can join Exercises in sports educational cardboard. We will  also discuss about sports educational cardboard, how it is connected to the school, what it actually serves, what exercises it all encompasses and more. In addition, participants will be able to recall their school days and try some exercises made of sports educational cardboard.

Admission is free for all museum activities.
